Zilina is regional and district town in the Žilina region. The city is situated on the north of the country at the confluence of the Vah Rajčianka and Kysucou. Zilina will join the Upper and our fourth largest city. City attracts its visitors with numerous historical monuments and the surrounding countryside.

The historic city center is a conservation area and is one of the Capuchin Monastery are derived from the 18th-century Church of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle with two towers built in baroque style and the Old Town Hall, the current form dating from 1890. The eye-catching sacral monuments the city is the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1400 on the site of the castle of the 13th century. Next to the church is the Burian Tower, one of the oldest Renaissance bell tower in Slovakia. The oldest preserved sacral monument in the church of St. Stephen the King, which dates from the 13th century. In the northern part of Zilina, we have a wonderful view of the manor-house, which, however, is nowadays open to the public, but are made available exhibit space in the courtyard.

Hikers can choose to surrounding countryside town of Zilina, which offered plenty of natural attractions. Visitors to the city can come swim in the swimming pool near Žilina which is a sports complex with municipal indoor swimming pool.

Fans of skiing can visit ski resort Straník located in the city of Žilina, three kilometers from the city. Also interesting is the visit to Rancho near Zilina, which also has its own pond.
