Podhradie

Podhradie západoslovenská is a picturesque village situated in Trenčín in Prievidza district. The village belongs to the region of Upper Nitra, the area of ​​1276 hectares and has 306 inhabitants. Attracts its visitors with a quiet and beautiful nature and interesting historical and cultural monuments. The village lies on the southern side of the Upper Nitra Basin, on the east side it is surrounded by mountains Považský Inovec from the northwest rises the mountain range. Altitude municipal area is 411 - 1189. M n. m. The surrounding mountainous landscape creates excellent conditions for hiking and cycling. Tourists will be fascinated by the nature reserves that stretch across the territory of the municipality. The castle rises on a hill above the village, dates from the turn of the 13th to 14th century and burnt down in 1524. The pride of the village is the Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Michael Archangel, which was built in 1700. The area of ​​the land area stands the monument dedicated to all victims of the First and Second World Wars. It is enticing a chapel, whose patron is the Rosary of the Virgin Mary. The chapel was renovated in 2007 and corrected. Among the most famous cultural events in the town include burying the bass, the carnival parade, New Year's Eve balls and folklore activities. When visiting this picturesque village you can stay in local guesthouses or in private homes.
